Can't change lock screen type (Galaxy S6 Edge+)

When I first received my phone, I set up fingerprint unlocking. Yesterday, I decided to change it to password, which I set as a 4-word string with spaces. Something akin to "bleep bloop ima robot". I can unlock the screen successfully with the password.

Now, I want to go back to fingerprint unlocking. When I go to Settings > Lock screen and security > Screen lock type, I press that option, and it prompts me to Enter the current password. I put the password in, and says Try again. I have tried many, many times now with the very same password that unlocks the screen, and it still won't let me change it.

This is on a Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge+, running Lollipop 5.1.1.
