Why 'contact' taking too much space?

Hi guys! Recently I found that my Phone's stock 'Contact' app is taking 1.49 GB Space which I think is too much.
How can I reclaim my 1.49 GB back?
Any other app to replace the Stock Contact App.?
Other solutions. .?

I HAVE ROOTED DEVICE (WITH CWM) & ANDROID VERSION IS 4.2.2
