Unable to view the access point name settings...

Hello guys,
after playing around and flashing some roms and rooted my note edge sm-n915f on lollipop 5.1.1 I noticed that I don't have data connection at all. Looking to the APN settings and found this: Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

What Happened to my APN Settings?

https://gyazo.com/90f9ab027357cea8009bdae1a0346690
I can't seem to find the APN settings on my Pure after going through the motions of bootloader unlocking and TWRP flashing (via command line), and SuperSU flashing(via TWRP)? Stuck with no service, and can't even find the settings to either edit the APNs or select a service provider...

Change setting's language

Hello I have question about Samsung 6 edge +
T-Mobile i would like to change the settings menu to other language
So I want to copy the Arabian language fire from Rom gm-928f

So I used this program " morelocale2" but it doesn't work so what can I do to change the languages
Thank

Change or add APN settings

On the stock lollipop rom, there is no option to add or change APNs, you only stuck with what is given to you on the rom. Is there a mod or other ways to modify the APNs?

[TUT] Restore SuperSU permissions and settings after re-installation?

While no one made a thread about this topic or even asked around and no app can backup its stuff, then I thought it will be better to post such a solution to what is apparently a missing feature/option of SuperSU app, I actually wrote a reply on SuperSU thread talking about it. Anyway, this thread is for users who ever wonder how to get around it and stop re-authenticate every app all over again and maybe they forget to give permission to a startup important tools (e.g. SElinuxModeChanger) so here we go.

NOTE: I only tried it for SuperSU v2.46, maybe it works for other versions, and it's important to do the process within the same version.
1- Go to SuperSU settings and uncheck "Re-authentication" (very important!).
2- Open up a file explorer that supports root permissions (e.g. ES File Explorer) and grant it the permissions (make sure you see a toast notification confirmed that, otherwise you can't continue).
3- Go to /data/data/eu.chainfire.supersu/shared_prefs folder.

*You see the file eu.chainfire.supersu_preferences.xml, it contains values of certain configuration or important info of SuperSU like any other app has the file end with "_preferences.xml", let's go back.
4- Take a copy of that file eu.chainfire.supersu_preferences.xml
5- Re-install SuperSU and make sure it's installed correctly with "su binary" to work properly.
6- Open up your file explorer and grant it root permissions.
7- Go to the same folder /data/data/eu.chainfire.supersu/shared_prefs and replace the new file with the one you kept.
8- Go to SuperSU app info screen in system settings and click on "Force stop".
9- Then open it, now you see the same list of apps (without their icons because they aren't installed yet, so once they are, they don't need to ask for root again) and have the same settings configuration.

That's it.

And I hope @chainfire add an option for all that just with one click.

Note for moderators: this is my first thread, I don't know where else to put it, so I apologize in advance.

Best way to back-up settings and apps for a new rom?

Guys I know I'm stupid. But I know all the basics of flashing, rooting, recovery, etc... But I never cared about backing up my settings and apps, I always started fresh. But now since I flash a lot more I'm starting to get annoyed. :silly: I want to start backing up, but is it possible to do so and keep all my settings, my apps, and the settings of my apps? I know Titanium Backup can backup setting and apps but can it backup system settings as well? I would prefer to use what you guys think is the best option, thanks again. I do not care about backing up the whole ROM itself with all the apps and settings via TWRP or any other custom recovery, the whole point of this post is to have a fresh ROM then restore it with all the apps and settings I previously had on the ROM before.

[Q] Marshmallow Visual Voicemail settings - manual entry?

With 6.0 making the rounds now with OTA's coming through I'm interested to know if it's possible to turn on Visual Voicemail even though carriers would (likely) not have enabled it yet. In my situation, my carrier supports Visual Voicemail for iPhone users but android is not yet supported. I'm wondering if there's a way that anyone knows of, to manually enter the carrier settings for it to be used.

For reference, I'm on Vodafone in Australia, and a random dev has made an app for visual voicemail which works on Android but its nice to have it natively.

Can't turn any Accessibility services on in Settings

The "OK" button doesn't register if I want eg LastPass to have access.

KitKat to Marshmallow update diary, kept apps and settings, rooted

I managed to upgrade my Nexus 7 2013 LTE from KitKat to Marshmallow using factory images yesterday and took some notes. All apps and settings kept (or at least I haven't noticed any issues other than no Xposed) and rooted. I figured someone might find this useful.

So, short version: upgrading directly from 4.4.4 to 6.0 with factory images didn't work without wiping data and where's the fun in that? So I took a longer route and went 4.4.4->5.02->5.1.1->6.0.0. It's possible I could've gone from 5.0.2 to 6.0 or 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 directly but I'm not going to try and see if that's the case. Enjoying Marshmallow now.

Basically, I did the same thing for all three update steps:
  1. Unpacked factory image, rebooted to bootloader, flashed bootloader, radio, system.img, boot.img, cache.img. I rebooted to bootloader after flashing bootloader and again after flashing radio, same thing the flashall.bat does. Don't know if it matters.

  2. Booted to TWRP recovery, flashed supersu zip and renamed /system/recovery-from-boot.p to keep TWRP.

  3. Booted system and grew some gray hairs while the boot animation went on and on until it finally got to the long "optimizing apps" phase.

For 6.0 I flashed a modified kernel and supersu beta 2.52.

So, enjoying Marshmallow now. No issues so far. Root cloak detectors seem to be becoming a plague and I've only used an Xposed module for that.

[Need Help]Alcatel one touch idol 2 mini s settings not working on kitkat rom

Hello everyone
So recently I was lucky to find an unoffical greek kitkat 4.4.2 update for my Alcatel one touch idol 2 mini s.I found this on a russian site which I translated and downloaded.I recovered it with TWRP.When it was done I rebooted the device it started up and it showed the greek comsmofone boot animation. After that it booted up and I was happy because the only kitkat update I managed to find finally worked.Unfortunatly this hapiness was short when I stumbled upon a error when I was customizing my phone settings.I preesed the lock screen option to change my lock screen and it crashed.I said it's okey I don't need a lock screen that bad. After that I went to security so I can check the allow download from unknown sorces so I can download some cool apps for the phone because I also rooted it with Supersu. And yet again my settings crashed, well this was scary.I got the update it was awesome, great features and just plain great to get the freaking long waited update for kitkat which I just found and it wasn't offical, but not having this option to download from unknown sorces makes this a lot more boring, annoying and dumb.So let me just wrap it up xD...if you have and idea on fixing this issues please help i will be very gratefull. And also im new on the xda forums and a newbe :3 sry if it was a long story xD

I wanted to put links on the update site and on the phone site but I cant because of spam reasons and beeing a new user to xda,so the update was located on a russian site callec 4pda at the alcatel one touch idol 2 mini s .... Model 6036Y forum.
And I wanted to post a link of gsm arena for the full specs of the phone but can't
So the important thing is that i have the 6036Y model.
And the error is that when I click security,my settings crashes and it shows the options close or report I tried rebooting and still not working.

COS 12.1 Launcher 5.1.1 in landscape using Xposed and App Settings?

Using Xposed and App Settings, I was able to put the launcher in horizontal when I turned my phone in Lollipop 5.0. It does not work in Lollipop 5.1.1 using the default launcher.

Tips?

Share Your Kernel Settings

I know there are a lot of possible settings depending on the users preference. I'm just curious what settings do you use for your phone. Since we all have the same phone why not share yours.

Please include your:
- Kernel you are using
- App/s used in tweaking the settings
- And your settings
