Amazon's release date for the Z5 is way late, is this normal for them?

On Amazon's pre order page it says it's going to be released October 22nd, but for the black version specifically it doesn't give a release date.

What's the deal with Sony and officiating/announcing release dates?

Anyone have experience with something like this? What happened?
