Preface: The phone is a 2015 Moto X Pure Edition that I dropped in water. The bootloader is unlocked, but the device is not rooted. The digitizer and LCD are completely out of commission but I can still hear the alerts and the volume rocker is working. Google Device manager can also still locate the device so it appears that everything is online. Knowing all of the above, can anyone think of what would be the best way to get my texts back? My best guess would be to somehow root it and pull the /data/ folder but I wouldn't even know how to begin without seeing my screen.
