[HOWTO] Share screen and mirroring to chromecast on the Galaxy Tab 2

This is a quick tip to get chromecast screen share (or screen mirroring working). As you know, the latest official version from Samsung is the android 4.2.2, which doesn't have the screen mirroring feature. It has the ability to share specific apps via the chromecast app, however not all media apps appear there, games, etc. The errors that you may get if doesn't work properly are:

- Screen Casting is not optimized for this device; your experience may vary
- Casting screen to chromecast has ended

The rom that works is for the Galaxy Tab 2 P5100:

[ROM][P51xx][5.1.1] Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 AOSP-Project

Just click on the share icon on the notification toolbar and there you go. You don't even need the chromecast app except if you want to send specific apps (faster). If there's any issue and the screen goes black and stays black, or goes black and then quits, try changing the tablet DPI to 100 and try again. Then switch back to DPI 160 and should work:

- Connect via adb to the tablet

- To view current dpi:

Code:

adb shell dumpsys display | grep mBaseDisplayInfo

- To change to 100 dpi for example:

Code:

adb shell wm density 100 && adb reboot

After doing the dpi change from the first time the chromecast should notice and work from now on. Most or all 4.4.4+ roms should work.

[HOWTO] Disable all Xposed Modules via recovery

If you enable or update an Xposed module and get stuck in a boot-loop, your options are limited. You basically just have access to recovery. I got stuck in this situation and had trouble finding out how to disable Xposed via recovery.

To disable Xposed completely from recovery,
  • Boot into custom recovery

  • Go to File Manager (usually under Advanced)

  • Navigate to /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list

  • Delete modules.list

  • Reboot System

The deleted file simply controls which Xposed modules are loaded on startup. Deleting the file disables all Xposed modules.

After you reboot, all of your Xposed tweaks will be disabled. To re-enable Xposed modules, simply start up the Xposed Installer app. Then go to modules and make any change. This will re-create the modules.list file that you deleted in recovery.

There might be quite a lot of people who already know but this is for the benefit of those who don't know and end up wiping data and flashing everything from scratch.

HOWTO: Disable “Transfer data to SD Card” Notification in Lollipop

Hey Folks,

I thought I'd share this, because it took me much time to find this solution.

For all those who, like me, get really annoyed by the “Transfer data to SD Card, internal storage is 75% full” notification, which constantly pops up on stock lollipop roms, even if there is more than 2GB of space left, there is a simple way to get rid of it:

On non-rooted phones, you will have to connect your phone to your pc and use adb. If you don't know what adb is, ask google...
In the adb shell, type this command:

Code:

adb shell pm hide com.sonymobile.storagechecker

Now you will never see this stupid notification again :)

On rooted phones, you don't need a pc with adb. Simply open terminal emulator and type this commands:

Code:

su
pm hide com.sonymobile.storagechecker

Enjoy!
