Stuck without a solution, any help would be appreciated

Hey guys!
This is my very first post here. I have been an active "guest" on this website over several years as I was always able to find answers to any questions I had here. But today I have finally reached a dead end road so I had to resort to finally creating an account to ask a question.

Phone info:
  • Canadian Samsung Galaxy S4 (Rogers) SGH-I337M

  • CM 11-20151004-NIGHTLY-jflte

  • Android 4.4.4

  • Baseband I337MVLUAMG1

  • Kernel 3.4.104-cyanogenmod-g8b03f0c build03@cyanogenmon #1

Problem #1:
I haven't had any phone service in over a year now, I've just been on wifi. Over this time, I've been updating CM every now and then. I now have gotten a contract with my phone provider again, they gave me a sim card I put it in, it works... kind of. Connection to the network stays only until I lock the phone (or it locks it self due to inactivity), swipe to unlock and service is gone, I get an icon saying "no service (rogers wireless) unavailable". It sometimes comes back on its own, and goes again. I have tried every possible solution I could find online and nothing seems to work. APNs are fine, ive double checked that they are correct. I've seen some posts suggesting that CM11 couldve screwed up my modem somehow but no other information I could find on that.

Problem #2:
So 2 days later (so much for my weekend) I have decided that maybe I should just dump CM and go back to original firmware. I found several tutorials and read them before doing anything, seeing what potential problems I can run into. Everything seemed straight forward. So I have downloaded the right firmware (5.0.1 for my phone from SamMobile) and decided to give it a go. I've tried it twice now and Odin keeps saying;

Quote:

<ID:0/025> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<ID:0/025> Added!!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Luckly I haven't completely bricked my phone, it still boots into damn indestructible (buggy) CM! But I am just a bit out of luck I guess, I am really frustrated as I am paying for phone contract now but cannot use it to call or text. This might be a rookie question, but I no "flashing stock firmware tutorials" have provided many guidelines on whether I have to format anything though recovery mode before flashing stock firmware, just gets straight to it. Maybe its common sense? But I really dont know any better. So its a bit of a two way road now, a solution to either of the problems would be greatly appreciated. I hope I have provided enough information, please don't judge this is my first post here and I have looked for answers before posting.

In advance, huge thanks!

Huawei Honor 4c - Kernel compilation and boot.img creation [help appreciated]

Hi all

I compiled new kernel from source - Lollipop kernel- for the chm-u01 and want to replace my zImage to the stock boot.img to test it, but i can't do it.

When i extract stock boot.img i get all this files

Quote:

ramdisk
boot.img-base
boot.img-cmdline
boot.img-kernel
boot.img-kernel_offset
boot.img-pagesize
boot.img-ramdisk_offset
boot.img-ramdisk-compress
boot.img-tags_offset

Here is the log for extraction

Code:

Magic = ANDROID!
 magic_offset = 0x00000000
 page_size = 2048            (00000800)
 board = ''
 base = 0x07478000
 kernel_addr = 0x07480000
 kernel offset = 0x00008000
 kernel_size = 20346584            (013676d8)
 ramdisk_addr = 0x0f000000
 ramdisk offset = 0x07b88000
 ramdisk_size = 3698022            (00386d66)
 second_addr = 0x08300000
 second offset = 0x00e88000
 second_size = 0            (00000000)
 tags_addr = 0x09e00000
 tags offset = 0x02988000
 cmdline = 'hisi_dma_print=0 vmalloc=384M maxcpus=8 coherent_pool=512K no_irq_affinity androidboot.selinux=enforcing ate_enable=true'
 dt_size = 0            (00000000)

Till here everything ok

All files are very tiny except boot.img-kernel cause is where kernel resides
If i try to open it with 7-zip inside it i have 2 files

Name-----------Size------------Compressed size-------Characteristics
.reloc-------------0-----------------------0-----------------InitializedData DiscardableRead 0x100000
.text----------2034632---------------2034632------------Code Execute Read Write 0x500000

Tried to replace my compiled zImage name to boot.img-kernel but when all repacked to a boot.img and flashed it trough Fastboot on power phone stuck on logo

If anyone is interested to help here are the

My compiled zImage

Used tool for spliting boot.img was CarlivImageKitchen-Windows_v1.0 both on windows and Ubuntu
