Show site, image or file with Chromecast on TV
Hello there,
I want to use my Chromecast to view a Web site, an image or a file (e.g. HTML file) on a screen. Basically, to be informed about an Android app or website Chromecast that he opens it independently and then displays without further interaction.
According to the Google Developer Page developers.google.com/cast/docs/custom_receiver , this should be possible.
Actually this principle is already being used in media libraries or the Youtube app. Are there any specific examples or information about development?
Mfg,
Sissie

Android M TWRP Backup, what is "System Image?"
First time using the backup feature in TWRP and I've been searching through guides for info. From what I've found, all I need for a complete backup is system, data and boot. However, I noticed there is also an partition called "System Image" that I can't find mentioned in any backup guides or info.
Anyone know what that is?
Options:
System (1952MB)
System Image (2048MB)
Data (5083MB)
Cache (0MB)
Boot (16MB)
Recovery (16MB)
EFS (3MB)
Thanks!

Help, Can't leave bootloader. Flashed M system image
Hi,
I was unlocked and rooted and I tried using the NRT to flash the M system image. It worked and I got the phone to boot once. It went through the Android is upgrading process and I used it for a few seconds and then it froze. I rebooted it by holding the power button. It now will not leave the bootloader. When I try to start it just flashes back into the bootloader. In the BL log it says "failed to validate boot image: ref=-1" So I tried re-flashing both manually and in the NRT. This is the error I get when flashing
(bootloader) failed to write primary GPT
(bootlaoder) failed to flash partition
FAILED (remote failure)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Need stock 12a system image
Hi all,
I need someone to do me favor. When I took the 12a ota, I rooted it with the root injection method. However, I didn't make a backup of my stock unrooted system image. The way it sits now I am permanently rooted. I can't KDZ back to 11a for obvious reasons and when I reset to factory defaults, even through the LG recovery screen, it still keeps root. Since it's possible that big red pulled the 12a ota due to notification issues and such, I will not be able to take any more ota's until a KDZ is released.
So after expanding on that, all I'm asking is for someone with a Verizon variant of the G4 that is on 12a but is NOT rooted to please pull a copy of their stock UNROOTED system image (preferably right after a factory reset) and put it up somewhere for me to grab. That way if another ota comes back, I have a way to get back to stock without having to wait for a KDZ to be released. If someone is willing to do this for me, please post the MD5 so I don't flash a bad download.
Thanks so much in advance.

Samsung S3 - help flashing back factory image
A while back I unsuccessfully tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The phone still worked OK, rebooted fine, etc., was using it for months.
Just recently though I decided to factory reset so I can give my phone to a family member, and this happened (see pics below ). Now it just hangs on T-Mobile screen and never boots at all.
http://imgur.com/gallery/0BWqcUA
Can anyone point me in the right direction to flash the default factory image back on there.
This is with T-Mobile in case that matters.
Thanks in advance.

Copy/paste text containing image?
When I copy text containing images in android 4.4.4 and paste it somewhere else, the text pastes but none of the images.
Is there a way around that or is it an android problem?

unroot virtual image via app, will it affect the main OS?
today I've decided to take a chance on getting my Note 3 to Jasmine ROM. Luckily got everything working even with setting up as MultiSystem Virtual Image. I use the phone to check my corporate email and it check for rooted device. Can I unroot the virtual image using one of the playstore app so I can connect to my corporate email? if I do, will it also remove the root from the main ROM? I thought the idea of the MultipSystem is that I can do anything and it doesn't affect the main ROM but I see that if I install an app, it also installs on the main ROM so this worries me. TIA.
Recovery Image will not stick - just see red triangle over android
I recently flash 5.1.1 on my Nexus 5 and after finishing, I only see 16GB on my 32GB phone. I found the solution online to be to boot into recovery, clear cache, and then factory reset. The issue I am having is that my phone does not have a recovery image. I have tried flashing the stock recovery image by using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and i get a successful flash but when I go to boot to recovery I get that red triangle again. Can someone please help me flash my recovery image? I also tried WugFresh's nexus tool to flash both stock recovery and twrp but even after doing that, my recovery image does not stick. I also tried hold power, press and release vol up, then release the power key while on the red triangle screen and that does take me to stock recovery but how can I make the image stick so that I don't have to see the red triangle?

M factory image and user data
So sometime next week the M factory image will show up, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer on user data. Would it be best to erase/format user data before flashing the the factory image or is a person safe to leave the user data intact and flash everything but user data?

Looking for a video-camera app that DOESN'T use image stabilizing.
I need to edit footage shot with the phone, but want to avoid the distortions coming from the image stabilizinf algorhythm.
I don't care how shaky it is, I can use a tripod, or warp stab it in post.
So any of you know of an an app that shoots at least 720p, (pref. 1080p) and doesn't use/can turn off in-camera image stabilizing completely.
Thanks.

[Q] how to directly edit a ubifs system image
Hi,
I have searched the forums and still haven't found any useful information.
I've been trying to edit a ubifs image (system.img) for a generic mediatek tablet.
These are the many things I have tried:
1) Edit the boot.img so that ro.secure=0 etc to see if I can get root. Unfortunately selinux is enabled and I don't even have busybox on the system (something called toolbox)
2) Work out what nand flash is being used (in my case its - SanDisk SDTNRGAMA 64G 3.3V 8-bit). And emulate the nand by using nandsim on a linux computer, but it causes a segmentation fault:
Note - I have included a spelling mistake (nanDsim should be nandsim) because I dont' want anyone to just cut and paste this command - it causes a segmentation fault on Ubuntu and Debian and I have found that if you are running on an ssd system it will hard lock your pc! (You have been warned).
3) Use ubireader (github.com/jrspruitt/ubi_reader).
but when I run 'ubireader_extract_files' I get all the files, but they are all corrupted.
I'm currently trying to use the information in the ubireader_display_info to create a blank ubifs image and using 'linux dd' to try and read the image that I have.
Has anyone got any tips on how to progress, your help and advice would be appreciated.
