Change Default Search Engine for Amazon Launcher

Is this possible? I really want Google as the default engine, and I guess I am too lazy to open up the Google app every time I want to look something up. I have looked through all the settings, but can't find anything. Anyone else found anything, or are we stuck will Bing for the time being?

[Launcher] Sapphire UI *Alpha|Reboot Project|Android5 Exclusive

Application Type: Launcher
Minimum SDK:22
32bit Support: Yes
64bit Support: Yes
Development Stage: Alpha

Hello everyone, Im here to share & get some feedback on a Project that ive been working on. It is no were from being complete or in its current state available for ota updates through google play so figured creating and maintaining a new thread here would be my best bet. So, here's a little information on my Launcher Project...

Background Story: I began development on Sapphire UI a little over a year ago, link. It's purpose was to be an all exclusive launcher built based on HTC Sense's firmware (Version 6 at the time) and provide HTC device owners a new approach in managing their applications on their device, provide helpful backdoors to managing their device and information and be built on an innovative user interface based on Sense. Well things were looking great, untill HTC updated to Sense7. I had 2 options; ditch the api for Sense6 that rom devs were using and create my own based on HTCs code for Sense7 using smalli injection methods and maintain the API through firmware updates or convert the launcher to full AOSP and just keep the lock in the manifest for HTC devices. Ultimately, I lost interest all together because an AOSP app exclusively for a Sense rom just looked like crap and maintaining a homebrew sense api insided an app based on firmware that could update at any time was way to much work for me atm soooo, I got some feedback from my legacy users on the google plus group, took a long break and decided to rebuild the launcher exclusively for Android 5. I should mention, just because my HTC followers were so greatful to have follow the project, I am adding some exclusive features for them.

Development: The Launcher is very bare bones right now and according to my Alpha testers, it feels like Google Now Launcher w/o the Now extension. My goal is to create a materialized launcher for Android5+ with improved security/privacy, improved overall performance, helpful additional features to maintain apps and shortcuts, maintain and monitor your device, integrated profile support using google api, connect to google plus for sharing and posting features. Basically in a nut shell, create a user friendly oober google launcher. I am not interested in creating a customize-able launcher as hundreds of them exist. I am interested in creating a unique launcher that fits a user that doesn't exist yet but offering features based on concepts of existence rebuilt to our needs. This launcher is based on the recent svn branch code of Google's Launcher3 for AOSP and some improved layouts and design xml by CyanogenMod as well. Eventually, Id like to make this launcher Open Source for rom devs but that depends on how development goes and what users think of the concept. Who knows, maybe this launcher will one day become a thing in your favorite launcher.

Features: (Will vary throughout updates in Alpha Testing)
-Original AOSP Launcher3 interface
-LongClick on workspace to access context menu
-HTC Sense6 & Sense7 Prism widgets supported (If your oem widgets only appear on their launcher and would like to see support for your oem, contact me)
-Sapphire Dashboard (Highly experimental and Work in Progress)
-Sapphire Dashboard Cards (Similar to Google Now Cards but built to maintain and manage your device and information. May create an api like CyanogenMods CMhome in the future)
-Dashboard Drawer Navigation Settings (Launcher settings can be accessed through dashboard, maintain svn updates in preferences)
-Dependable Performance
-Materialized Interface
-Voice Recognition for Google Now
-Google Now Search Bar (Not sure if il make my own widget or not yet, depends on google terms of service)

Feedback: I enjoy feedback however negative comments keep to yourself. I want a clean thread. If you want to trash talk on Google Plus or Twitter, go for it. I am looking for interest in Card ideas as well.

Updates: I usually code on the weekend nights so OTA updates will never be on time or dated. Do not ask for updates either.

Android app widget crashes launcher after indefinite length of time

I have a really strange problem with my app widget. There's no issues with dragging it to the homescreen, configuration or even functionality. Everything works as expected.

But, after an arbitrary length of time, my launcher starts to crash. I've gone days at a time without experiencing this, and sometimes just minutes. In fact, there's seemingly no way to recover it without opening the Recent Apps screen, finding the Play Store or Settings and just uninstalling the app.

My app's package name is org.thecosmicfrog.luasataglance. Almost all of what the widget does is handled by a Service, which is created when a user taps part of the widget.

The widget is located at: org.thecosmicfrog.luasataglance.widget.StopForecas tWidget

The Service is located at: org.thecosmicfrog.luasataglance.service.WidgetList enerService

I've attached the output of LogCat just after the crash below. You can see where the Google Now launcher starts to crash (com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox), but this affects other launchers too:

Crashing Nova Launcher & UCCW

Hey Guys,

I've got a Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi version which has been rooted and had Timurs kernel installed.

I've installed Nova Launcher and UCCW. I've used UCCW to create a widget but each time I select the UCCW widget and try and drop it on the launcher screen the whole tablet crashes and reboots, I've forced stop and cleared data on both the launchers and its still not working.

If I use a system widget or other widget like 1weather etc then its fine but any of the UCCW widgets fails :(

Can anyone help me please?

A3300-GV - factory reset, no launcher, does not turn off

Hello,

I think I am in big trouble:
It is about the Lenovo A3300-GV.
It is rooted with KingRoot.
USB Debugging is off - as far as I can remember.
Stock recoverym no custom recovery.
Was running stock KK 4.4.2 before.

I replaced the original Lenovo launcher with the Holo launcher and removed the Lenovo launcher.
I did a factory reset under settings since a lot of unused games were installed.

No the tablet turns on but since there is no launcher I can not do anything.
I see the status bar on top but can not scroll down for the settings.
I also see the navigation bar on bottom.

When pressing the power button I see "Power off".
It does not turn off but reboots only.

When pressing the Volume down button during the reboot I can access the "Safe mode".

From the PC I can access the internal SD card.

That's all.

ADB from the PC does not recognize the tablet.

The reset button near the SIM card works only when the tablet is off, right?
Does not work either.

How can I make it work again?

Use bigger icons home screen stock KK launcher

Is there a tweak to have 4x4 grid icons in home screen bigger than stock 5x5 - like the size you have in the app drawer when selecting big icons (4x5 grid)

Nova Launcher - TeslaUnread Plugin not working?

Hi guys
I love my Note 4. Not rooted (yet), but I installed Nova Launcher 4, and very happy, except that I get no notification from any app with TeslaUnread Plugin (v.3.3), like messaging, missed calls, gmail, etc...
Of course, my notifs are all on, so it must be something a newbie like me don't get :(
Any advice? Thanks!

Can't add apps/widgets to Nova launcher homescreen

Hi

I've just done a factory reset on my htc One. Htc backup failed miserably so I'm trying to manually reinstate my apps on Nova Launcher Prime. Long press and hold results in a popup of my homescreens in the background with no option to add apps or widgets. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Nova and checked the homescreen is unlocked but am pretty much out of ideas otherwise.

Any thoughts out there?

Thanks

Z Launcher Beta - Nokia`s new android launcher!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.nokia.z

I'm really surprised no threads was made about this launcher! Possibly one of the most intuitive, sleek and quickest launchers I've ever used. The drawing on the screen to find app is amazing, fluid app drawer by listing, and widget screen. Highly recommend people to check this out. Also welcome to post your thoughts :)
