some questions

1-considering getting the 16gb in white. read a review saying you only have 9gb of free storage space to work with. im assuming the internal storage is faster to fetch files/launch apps than the sd card slot (theoretically using a very fast sd card)

what are the limits of the sd card slot? can I put anything on the sd card from the phone or is it for music video and pictures only? this is what worries me. not being apple to save apps to it and also lag because the internal storage would be faster and my day to day experience will be annoying.

2-is it true that using a bootloader/rooting voids warranty?

3-is there a double tap to wake phone?

4-how does the "hand swipe over the screen" to show the clock work when its in the pocket? is it constantly running? or is it using the perimeter sensor like when you make a call and turns the screen off?

5-I have a POS htc M7 now. to get in the phone, I need to press pwoer button>slide up to unlock> then draw password. 3 functions each time. I hate the phone with a passion.

if I could use a double tap to wake screen with the moto x instead of pressing the power button and also to disable the slide up to unlock I would be a much happier man. is this possible?

Help!! Downgrading to 4.4.4, Need Some Answers

So, i have got a Galaxy alpha G850F sent to me from Portugal (Vodafone) (TCL). I used another sim from another country(country i live in) which works perfectly (No country unlock code asked, i am guessing the phone was somehow unlocked before reaching to me ). The phone had Kitkat 4.4.4 and was rooted. I unrooted it and upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.2. The lollipop version has a problem with recent key and i just want to go back to Kitkat. But i am afraid that if i flash the portugal vodafone TLC firmware via ODIN the phone might get country or carrier locked. Is that possible? Also can i install the BTU(United kingdom) version KITKAT which is bloatware free? WIll it be safe? (NOTE: i get the infamous E:/ unknown volume [:/sbfs] error while wiping data/factory reset via recovery, I have back up of EFS partition)

Questions about some features

Hi,
I want to know if some features exist or if it's possible to activate it.

I like to have a different color notification LED by applications (message, phone, twitter, messenger) How can I activate it. I found in "parametre" only for message, phone and voicemail.

On my older phone, I can switch music by long press on volume button. I love this feature. It's possible to activate it?

I use a lot lmt launcher, I think it's very fast way to launch application. But on Miui, LMT don't launch any application, only back,home,recent apps works. Someone use it?

Made a mistake. Need some help.

Not sure if there is a way out but this is my situation. I am on an ATT&T M8. Was going to flash a new rom. Was on exodus. so I did a full wipe in twrp. I then flashed firmware 3.42.502.1. But after I flashed I forgot to flash the custom recovery again. So when I tried to reboot to recovery I was left with a red triangle exclamation point. So now I have nothing but a stock recovery and I can't get into my phone using adb. I tried flashing a rom stored on my sd card but that didn't work. Do I have a way out of the mess I created for myself? Thanks .

[Q] Some don't get images I text

For some reason there are those among my friends who do not receive images, or video clips, I send them. I no one got them I'd think it was something I was doing wrong, but many of the people I send them to say they received them, so is this a local problem, a setting on the receivers side?.

Lost LTE and internet access on some Wi-Fi networks after flashing Cyanogenmod

This is the first help post for anything tech-related that I've ever posted- I'm usually good enough with Google to fix my own problems, but this one has me flustered.

Until yesterday I was running DigitalHigh's GPE ROM but decided to give Cyanogenmod another try after some persistent lag issues. Everything went fine during the install until I noticed that I was stuck on 3G no matter what I did- airplane mode, reboot, clear the cache, try to update APN settings, etc., nothing helped. Additionally, while the phone will connect to my home wireless network, it has a ! next to the connection symbol despite my being able to use the network with my laptop. The funny thing is, this only happens with some networks. Neither my home network nor the network at work will give me internet access, but if I plug an ethernet cable into my laptop and create an access point that way, I'm fine.

Here's what I've tried so far after scouring these and other forums:

-Reverted back to the previous ROM
-Flashed new firmware
-Flashed two new kernels
-Tried every different APN setting I can think of
-Popped out my sim card, waited a bit, and popped it back in
-Rebooted countless times
-Cleared every cache I can think of
-updated TWRP

There's probably more that I can't think of off the top of my head as well. Does anybody have any idea what on earth has happened to my phone?

LG G3 some stubborn bloatware removal

Got this phone just recently as a replacement deal from Virgin (Canada), LG-D852 running on stock 5.0.1
Rooted last night to clean some vendor (Bell, Virgin) garbage but the titanium backup won't clean some of it even re-running the process 2-3 times.
I had to move some of the vendor supplied apps from "/system/vendor/app-bell/bell) over to /system/app" and only then the TB could clean them.
Some of the apps still I could only freeze, but
one is giving me a hard time, can't locate it in the system (it is not in the Settings/General/Apps list, also TB is not showing it) but in the apps launcpad the red icon is there and active, also it have several widgets at the very end of the widget list.
It is a "My Account" with a Virgin logo on the button, clicking on it want to connect somewhere on internet but unsuccessfully just running a loop (maybe I have butchered the roots well around it).
How can I remove these type of apps/widgets what the Titanium Backup can't see, or maybe it can see but under some different name as is the app/widget button (assume this button could be some sort of link to a separate process?).

The back buttom dosent work some times!?

After the 5.1.1 uppdate back button dosent work always!!!
I did a clean install when uppdating.

Mi 4 rotated camera in some roms!

I have a weird problem: in some roms like paranoid or cm12 my mi4 shows 180º rotated camera image, this is only happening with back camera. I have no problems on miui, so i think that it must be something related with the fact that mi4 has two possible cameras, samsung and sony. Can i fix it anyway? Did it happen to anyone else??

Having Some Issues

Hello all, I have some problems I hope you guys can help with.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxt S3 i-747, the att version, running CWM 6.0.4.7.

I am having an issue with every rom I have installed thus far. My battery level registers at anywhere between 14-51 percent and discharges rapidly from there. I have reinstalled each one at least 3 times. Before installing, I made sure to format /system, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache. I ahve even tried such apps as Battery Calibration.

The roms I have used are as follows, and the problem persists with each one.
- Carbon Rom
-Gummy Rom
-LiquidSmooth
-SlimKat(would not go past the Sliktkat logo)
-Dirty Unicorn(would not go past the Unicorn Logo)
-Stock Rom with Root
-Have tried LeanKernel, Archie Kernel and the stock kernel.

Each one has these problems, and two won't even boot. I'm at my wits end and I'm about to repurpose this phone for target practice. Hopefully one of you can help me out.

Some guide on how to use kernel auditor and tweak a kernel?

So I was on a custom stock rom for a very long time, I came back here and what I saw just confused me.
I see a bunch of new kenrels , but now all of them are just way too advanced then what they used to be, now there is ubertc and whatnot.
So, I downloaded the 777 kernel and installed it on my blisspop rom, thing is I saw a new function called kernel auditor and there I see a bunch of settings to tweak and stuff like governors and what not.
I scrolled through a million pages in the 777 kernel and everyone who replied there just seem to know what all of these stuff is and how to use them, I couldn't find the point where people started to use these settings to better understand how to use them myself.
So I was wondering if there is some guide that I can read, maybe a person who can help me, I would be most thankful.

why some usb adaptor`s charge the S1 a lot faster than others

I have been reading a lot over the last week about usb chargers and how they work, on an use 2.0 connector there are 4 pins 1 + 4 are for power, the two center ones are for data like when you connect to your computer, I read that a lot of manufactures put a resistor across pin 2 and 3 connecting them together this is how tablets/phones detect if they are connected to a good usb adapter that has fast charge, so the tablet can pull as much power from the usb adapter as it needs, I measured pins 2 and 3 on my Samsung usb adapter and it reads 1 ohm, so then i checked all my usb adapters and about 4 out of 10 read as 1 ohm and my S1 charges at the maximum current of the adapter.

I have two third-party 2.1 amp usb mains chargers, and they only charge my S1 at 600ma so i measured pins 2 and 3 and they are like 50k , I bought this usb adapter or years ago for my Samsung phones, you just plug it into the charging socket of an third-party adapter and it is supposed to trick the Samsung phone into charging at full speed, I just measured the resistance across pins 2 and 3 and it is 1 ohm, so i plugged the adapter into one of the 2.1amp third-party adapters that only charge my S1 at 600ma, as soon as i used the adapter my S1 started charging at 1400ma, So it looks like i am onto something here.

Supposedly different manufactures put different resistances across pins 2 and 3 so they can detect one of their adapters and charge at full speed.

I also read that apple puts the resistor in the usb cable not the usb adapter, but i don't have an apple adapter or cable so i cannot check if this is correct.

After running cleanmaster some apps.....

I been dealing with this problem for about a month now. I play a few games on my zenfone 2 2gb/16, wordchums, dice with friends, and a few jewel/gem games nothing big or too graphical. Everything was running beautiful but then I ran cleanmaster that came bundled on the phone and since then a few games take like 15 seconds to load and a few a so graphic laggy.

Has anyone else come across this? My zen is completely stock on latest 97 firmware bit been happening before I upgraded. I have tried recovery and cleaning cache partition but it has not helped... Any ideas? Thanks
