Marshmallow!

With the update coming sometime in the near future, what does that mean for us with rooted phones? More specifically, us losers who are on the Puerto Rican rom.
I imagine if we update we lose root, but is there any way we can get back on the American AT&T H810 after the update comes out?

Update N7 to Marshmallow

My N7 originally is nonrooted with 5.1.1. wifi only and factory reset

Yesterday i used "WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit NRT_v2.0.5" to unlock the bootloader, root and flash Dmitry Grinbergthe's "grouper-M-TWRP_v1.1.zip" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...ouper-t3225584). Everything seems okay and it restarted and shows Android 6. Then i installed Gapp.zip it stuck at "Android starts, Optimizing app xx/xx" windows and finally got "Set up wizard stops" error when reboot. I tried two different Gapp zip files: "working-marshmallow-gapps.zip" and "benzo-gapps-M-20151011-signed-chroma-r3.zip" both got the same error. I have to restored it without Google apps.

Please help me to eliminate the error and install Google apps to the custom rom.

Thank you very much !!

SLo

Downgrade From Marshmallow to Lollipop!

Hello everyone,
Guys please help me out. I recently updated my phone from Lollipop(LMY47O) to Marshmallow (MRA58M).
But you know issues with the new Android version. So, I just want to get back to Lollipop 5.1.1.

Please instruct how can I do that.

How to downgrade from Marshmallow to Lollipop in Micromax Canvas A1

A few days back I upgraded my device from Lollipop to Marshmallow and facing a lot of issues since then.
Some of them are:
1. Phone gets hanged while trying to receive an incoming call.
2. Phone gets heated while doing nothing.
3. Battery drains faster than ever.
4. If someone's trying to call it would take longer than usual to connect.

Can someone tell me the steps to go back to Lollipop from Marshmallow?

Thanks,
Girish

[M 6.0][AOSP] Melted Marshmallow

A simple AOSP 6.0 based ROM. Focus is on stability as this is what I'm running on my only phone on a daily basis.

Successor to Melted Butter.
New logo coming soon(tm).

Changes from AOSP as of 20151017:
  • Kernel supports loading modules (still works with screen dim/fast charge from 2 years ago)

  • SuperSU compatible. Don't need custom boot.img (SELinux init context runs in permissive mode)

  • Supports dirty flash from factory and other ROMs (PackageManager allows certificate changes for system apps)

  • Includes busybox, rsync and OpenSSH command line tools

  • Fix camera video green line

  • Old style update.zip with individual files. Doesn't wipe system partition for fast flashing

I'm currently investigating the feasibility of porting PIE (with notifications) + extended desktop forward, but will otherwise work on features as I think of them and have time.

Flash in this order:

[HOW TO] Unlock tethering on Android 4.4 to Marshmallow 6.0

Google made a change from Android 4.4 which allows operators to know when users are using tethering and conveniently block tethered devices from accessing internet.

This can be fixed permanently using the following procedure and no root required on all rom types (stock, mod):

1) Enable developer mode (Go to Settings -> About phone, and click on the build number until the developer mode is enabled).
2) Enable USB debugging under Settings -> Developer options
3) Connect the device with a USB cable to a computer with the Android SDK platform tools installed
4) Start an adb shell: adb shell
5) In the adb shell, run this command:

Code:

settings put global tether_dun_required 0

Tested on Nexus 5 & 6 with Marshmallow STOCK ROM

Stuttering videos/gifs after Marshmallow update

So I installed the Marshmallow image on my Nexus and everything worked fine the first day. The next day I wanted to look some reddit gifs but it was stuttering a lot, first I thought it might be the gif itself but it happend to the next gif too and all the others. I also used 9gag to look if it was the reddit app but the stuttering was there aswell. I tried to wipe the cache but it didn't work and I can't choose another video player in the developer options. Does someone know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Huawei names 15 devices to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow

One of the China-based phone slingers, Huawei, just officially announced its roadmap for a future Android 6.0 update. The mentioned devices are Huawei P8, Mate 7, Mate S, P8 Youth Edition, P8 Max, the Chinese version of the G8 (Maimang 4), G7 Plus, and G7. Additionally, the Honor 7, Honor 7i, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 6, X2, 4X, and Play 4C.

Of course, said devices won't be treated to stock Android - EMUI (Emotion UI) will be running on top of Marshmallow. There is no timeline provided for the update rollout, but it is said that Huawei will begin work on the update sometime in November.

What is this "P8 Youth edition"? P8 Lite? The European version "P8 Lite" also get the update?

Severe Battery Drain after Marshmallow update

My phone (Spice Uno) use to last 2 days on standby with wifi enabled on lollipop but ever since the marshmallow update it can't barely last more than 14 hrs that too on standby let alone usage . Factory reset hasn't helped either. Any body else facing the same issue? Whats the fix?

new marshmallow camera apk, developers porting time. flashable zip?

Google Contacts fuzzy / unclear after Marshmallow

It sounds crazy, but right after I installed M from factory image my Google Contacts have become so blurry that it's ridiculous. Most of these are what I had uploaded while ago, and they were fine on 5.1.1 but right after I moved to M, all of them are no fuzzy...

Anyone else has this issue?

Or any suggestions how do I resolve it?

[REQUEST] Note 4 n910c AOSP Marshmallow 6.0

hey guys, many of non-developer note 4 users (like me), uses AOSP Roms because of Samsung's TouchWiz may be loaded with tons of features we don't use or we enjoy more the Android Stock (Nexus) Experience. Since the first instruction from Google of Android M to the public, and it comes with plenty of new awesome features like doze, android pay, google now on tap, etc...
My request are the following (but even with only one of them achieved i would be very grateful and donate to devs):

-AOSP n910c Marshmallow 6.0 port
-Android Marshmallow 6.0 updated GAPPS on a flashable zip file compatible with AOSP 5.1.1
-Google Now on Tap support for AOSP 5.1.1
-Doze and App permissions support for AOSP 5.1.1
-Android Pay working on Rooted Devices
-A guide to help non-developers to create our own 6.0 port, even if later it shows bugs (if it doesn't end in bootloop, that's enough)

i will donate to the developers who can achieve at least one of these requests, good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
Greetings from Montevideo, Uruguay.
