Zenfone 2 not booting to Android and cannot access Recovery.

Hey everyone,

I am one of the people who tried the office bootloader unlock and now I have a problem. My phone will not boot to android. I get the android with the exclamation mark that flashes. I can reboot and select recovery at the bootloader, but when I hit power and vol+ I get the recovery screen for about 4 seconds before it goes back to the android with exclamation mark. I can see the following last few lines repeat:
E: cant mount cache (invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /cache/recovery/locale

I tried to erase the cache in fastboot, but I get the error "FAILED (remote: can not mount the necessary partition)". I cannot access adb as I cannot get the recovery to pull up. I am pretty sure my bootloader is still locked. It is like my partitions have been messed up. I know that Asus is aware of the issue with the bootloader app, but any updates pushed in apk format or that require the recovery will not be of help to me.

Is there anyway to rebuild the partitions or reflash the firmware via fastboot with a locked bootloader? I am used to an old Nook Tablet that you can boot from an sd card to fix issues like this.

Booting problem

I have rooted A116 MMX Mobile. I have downloaded the ROM xa116_galexy-evolution note5-v17.zip file. After installing the new ROM in my A116 MMX, while booting my device, an error is displayed "Root access missing/broken" . The device does not go ahead from the boot screen. What may be the problem.? However, other custom ROMs are working in my mobile. Please anybody help.

Problems booting and rebooting (not consistently) - just updated bootloader to OG5

So, my phone was problem free with the OB7 bootloader /OG5 ROM combination that is fairly common on this forum.

My unhealthy obsession with getting Android Pay to work on my phone led me to update the bootloader to OG5. I used odin and the tar file/instructions found here: "[GUIDE] Not quite newbie guide for moving to 5.1.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=3199881 "

Since doing this i have been having consistent problems including:

1 - powering on often goes into a download mode, with an error message, including but not consistently one of the following:
- sbl1 partition doesn't exist
- Kernel panic krait
- mmc_read fail

2 - reboots fail in about half of the attempts , sometimes the phone boots into download mode with an above error, sometimes it just stays powered off

3 - infrequent rom freeze-ups that result in one of the errors above.

I have re-tried the process a couple of times to fix. After the tar, and TWRP, I i have flashed both Hybrid X & Freeza's stockish. Both are terrific when the phone boots properly (except for the freezes mentioned above, but i don't think that they are ROM related.)
I have also tried removing and reformating my SD Card.

I usually get it to boot properly after a couple of battery pulls.

I'm not sure what the problem is and hoping someone wise can help me come up with a fix. Wondering if this related to TWRP, or maybe the updated partitions or some kind of checkdisk situation?

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Unbrick your infocus m350 manually . not booting device not working device .directly

I have concluded all the stock image files . just unzip the
Rar file and you will find a file called readme.txt . everything is present in that to unbrick your device.
All are lollipop files . you will directly get into lollipop firmware.

(Include the "h" letter in front of that link and download it . because XDA is not allowing me to post links .
Because I am new to XDA . I am 100% guaranteed that this will help you to unbrick your device .
Best way to unbrick your device .

AOSP GPS not working leading to TW not booting

Original problem was a no fix on GPS on AOSP ROMs. The fix was supposedly to flash a TW rom, get a GPS lock, then pull the battery and restore AOSP backup. The problem is whenever I try to flash any TW rom it refuses to go pass the Galaxy S5 load screen at first boot, like it's stuck (OA6 roms). When I flash an earlier NE5 ROM it goes to the boot animation then freezes after 5 seconds. No boot for TW, but boot for AOSP

I did do an odin unroot tar, I then rooted it, got a GPS lock, pulled battery, went into TWRP, wiped system, data, and caches. Restored AOSP and still no GPS fix. I really don't want to odin my phone again.

Any fixes for either of the problems? TW not booting or GPS fix.

OA6 Firmware
TWRP

Thanks

My GNote II doesn't booting

Hello everybody,
I've a Samsung Galaxy Note II SGH T-889 with some problems.
Indeed after recharging my phone, it doesn't boot and i have a black screen.
What can I do to resolve this problem?

Thank you to your answer!

Not charging, not booting, not booting into recovery?

So I installed CM12.1 on this bad boy, and I stopped using it for weeks. Come time I found the tablet and started charging it, it just keeps restarting and doesn't seem to charge.

Occasionally I could get it to recovery, but I would at least want to get it to boot up so I could use it.... Any help appreciated!

always booting into recovery

hello,

i've got a weird problem for some time now. i already have a workaround but it always requires me to hook the phone up to a pc.

the problem: after rebooting the phone to recovery, it gets stuck there.
i had this with cm12, cm12.1, temasek cm12.1, phronesis 2 and darklord N5 so i suppose the problem is not related to the roms itself.
if i long press power from running android and select reboot -> recovery the phone boots to recovery as expected.
whatever i do, after hitting reboot -> system in recovery it reboots to... recovery.
removing the battery for 5 minutes does not help.

the phone just keeps booting to recovery. the one fix i found so far is a mere workaround:
force download mode (vol down + home + power), hook it up to my pc, launch odin and flash twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.img.tar

this gets my phone to properly boot into normal android, but it always requires a pc. so using CM Updater oder CyanDelta with automatic installation of updates always gets me stranded in recovery while on the go.

what can i do to avaid this recovery bootloop? sure, i can just boot into recovery manually (vol up + home + power), but i suppose there is a real "fix" for this. do i have the wrong recovery? did i pick 5 roms with all the same bug?

this is really really annoying, especially if i forget about the problem and reboot into recovery from long-press power...

my N3 is a n9005 running on custom roms since late 2014 (i.e. i havent got all the official OTA updates which may be available)

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 not booting

So I have this Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, GT-P3100 with Jellybeans 4.1.2. I recently rooted it using Kingroot. It worked fine until I tried installing a custom kernel. I installed unofficial miui v5.4 using CVM Recovery v6.0.7 I think. I clicked install from sd card and installed the .zip file. It said installed after a few mind. I then clicked reboot device now. It started booting and showed a new boot image, which I thought was normal. But the image wasn't fitting in the screen. I waited full 30 mins and it stayed there, a light coming and going as a logo. Nothing happened, so I pressed the key combination of power button + volume up button for 5 seconds and it started again, showing the new symbol. It has not booted after an hour and half.

Please help, I don't know what to do.

I admit I am a little new in this. But I saw a website to tomsguide.com and followed the steps with pictures.

Please help LG-G4-H815 not booting up after a shutdown.

I need help, I've got LG-G4 H815 unlocked purchased from ebay brand new.
I had issue of phone warming up from time to time while charging or when I run waze and at the same time play music in car over Bluetooth.
Yesterday my phone shutdown on its own as it got too warm while I was driving.
After that phone is not restarting, I took off battery - let it cool down and tried charging it fully overnight but still looks like it is not restarting. I tried to do the hard reset and it wont even do that. All I see is the LG logo on screen and as I try to charge it using power cable provided by LG it warms up from time to time. The LG logo keeps coming and going from time to time as if phone is trying to reboot but nothing else happens after that.
Is there a way to fix this thing or I should contact Squaretrade for warranty call ?

Not booting flashing gapps

I've solved the problem when boot direct to recovery but now when I try to flash a custom ROM with gapps the phone turns on and after the bootanimation like 10s at the setup wizard it just reboots itself and keeps doing that... I've tried tk gapps(9-27 and 9-13) and open gapps 9-29... If I flash only the ROM and SuperSU it does boot and works great... I don't know what else to try :(
