Cannot install any custom ROM

Hi,
I've got a SM-T531 tablet and I hate the official ROMs. They're bloated and ugly. I searched around and found 2 custom ROMs which I would love to try out. I have flashed ROMs on my previous devices but never had any issues. Here's what I have done:

First I have flashed CF-Autoroot using Odin and it was successful. I could install apps with root permission, it was all good.
Then I wanted to install a custom ROM. I followed the instructions in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-...p-3-1-t3084757

I downloaded the latest TWRP:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=40746

The ROM:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=40978

GApps (I downloaded the SOKP-Mini-Gapps.L5.1.1-R-1.0-20150801.zip file):
http://downloads.sonic-developers.com/gapps/

Then used ODIN to flash the TWRP file, it was successful. Next I used the "Home+Volume Up+Power" to go to the recovery mode. After that I cleaned (Factory Reset) and used the "Install ZIP" to flash the ROM and then GApps. All finished without any issues.

But when I reboot I get the following error (same colors):

Quote:

kernel is not seandroid enforcing
set warranty bit : kernel

It stops there and never goes to any boot screen. Just freezes.

It's the same with the ROM mentioned in the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-...a-0-7-t2963906

Note: When I flashed the stock firmware, the tablet boots perfectly fine. But when I try to install custom ROMs I get this.
I have never seen this error before. What am I doing wrong?

I would appreciate any kind of help. Thanks in advance.

Samsung Galaxy S6 cannot see a Wi-fi Network

Hi,

I am on holiday in the Costa del Sol and the hotel has free wi-fi.

My Windows 7 laptop and my daughter's Windows 10 laptop, and my HTC One M8 phone can all see the hotel wi-fi network listed after a network scan, and can all connect after entering the password. The signal is strong, 6 bars.

However, my daughter's new Samsung Galaxy S6 cannot see the hotel wif-fi network after a scan at all, but does see various other distant wi-fi networks.

We have tried rebooting the S6, but no joy.

If it helps, using my laptop, it tells me the following about the connection:

Security Type: WPA2-Personal
Encryption Type: AES

Anyone any idea why the S6 does not see this network, while all our other devices can see it no problem?

Rock

Help! My tab is bricked, cannot be started. [New Thread]

Ok guys, long story short, here are the symptoms:

1) Still shows charging status.
2) Can enter download mode ONLY after being charged and the charging status is shown even for a short duration. Else, it will not react to any button I push.
3) Cannot enter recovery mode.
4) Somehow I can boot up to the SGT-2 logo which is rare. (I tried to start more than hundred times).
5) While in download mode, my PC wont discover the tab. In other PC, it simply says "device descriptor request failed". Which is code 43.

What I've tried:

1) Heimdall
2) Changing USB (3 times)
3) Different PC (2 times)
4) Removed the battery and put it back
5) Kies and drivers of all sorts I found on forums.
6) Swearing and threatening to kill the tab (numerous times)

I really need assistance. I maybe need to bring it to the service centre, however it will be very costing I presume. So does anyone have ever encountered the same problem as mine or know how to solve it? Please and thanks.

Zenfone 2 not booting to Android and cannot access Recovery.

Hey everyone,

I am one of the people who tried the office bootloader unlock and now I have a problem. My phone will not boot to android. I get the android with the exclamation mark that flashes. I can reboot and select recovery at the bootloader, but when I hit power and vol+ I get the recovery screen for about 4 seconds before it goes back to the android with exclamation mark. I can see the following last few lines repeat:
E: cant mount cache (invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /cache/recovery/locale

I tried to erase the cache in fastboot, but I get the error "FAILED (remote: can not mount the necessary partition)". I cannot access adb as I cannot get the recovery to pull up. I am pretty sure my bootloader is still locked. It is like my partitions have been messed up. I know that Asus is aware of the issue with the bootloader app, but any updates pushed in apk format or that require the recovery will not be of help to me.

Is there anyway to rebuild the partitions or reflash the firmware via fastboot with a locked bootloader? I am used to an old Nook Tablet that you can boot from an sd card to fix issues like this.

Cannot write in internal storage

Hello
I have weird problem, I cannot write in internal storage ; all apps functions that requires write access doesn't work.

I installed file explorer with root access. when I navigate to internal storage from " storage/emulated/0" I cannot create new folder (operation failed). but when I navigate to internal storage from "data/media/0" I have write access!

Every folder in the path have write access property.

I tried different solutions with no avail:
I formatted every thing and re-flashed the rom. same problem.

I tried:

Code:

su
echo mkdir /storage/sdcard0 > /data/local/userinit.sh
chmod 700 /data/local/userinit.sh
reboot

Code:

su
restorecon -v -R /data/media

HELP - My phone is bricked - cannot load recovery mode... ;(

Hello,

I loaded my SM-G900F with a custom rom and it suddenly died... There is no way to switch it on and when I connect it to my laptop it shows QHSUSB_BULK under device manager. I read a lot of posts and I understand that I need an unbrick image to boot from an sd card. Is that the right thing to do?

I would really appreciate is somebody could help.

Thanks in advance!

strange alert - cannot be stopped

https://www.dropbox.com/s/n26hxz8bm2...45.16.mp4?dl=0

The above video shows how my Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910G, 5.0.1, unrooted, original) has for the last 2 months or so occasionally played an alert (audible only), which cannot be stopped.

No notification or other indication shows what app or service causes this alert, it is NOT happening at times that
a calendar or such should trigger but happens out of the blue.

I have tried stopping each and every APP, (terninate from 'usage timelines pro')
It is even impossible to turn of the sound (from the sound icon in the notification/settings), it just goes on,
The only remedy I have found is to restart the phone.

Does anyone here recognize this sound and can tell me what causes this?

Cannot flash stock recovery.img... please help!

Is unlocking your bootloader a prequisite to flashing recovery.img? I have (from what I've gathered) a soft bricked XT 1032, and I forgot which Lollipop version it was running (I'm a loser, I know).

I vaguely remember seeing 5.0.1 . Less likely, it could have been 5.0.2 as well, but less likely. And I'm almost sure it was not 5.1 (I would have remembered).

Anyway, since I did not want to unlock the bootloader (I have still not given up on recovering my data as I did not back them up because of the loser that I am), I did not try flashing a custom recovery like TWRP, and instead tried:
- flashing the GPE recovery.img. I got the partition error (cannot erase).
- flashing gpt.bin, got Preflash vaidation failed

I repeated these steps with 5.0.2 files, and got the same results.

Could this be all because my bootloader is not unlocked? Please tell me that I don't HAVE to unlock bootloader. Of course, I have never tried rooting my phone either. I was running pure OTA stock when my phone suddenly stopped booting up and went into a boot loop.

Installed a custom kernel and now cannot get into boot.

I had recently installed the kernel Amplitude 4.2 for AOSP 5.1 devices and my GS5 W8 model was running Lollipop 5.1.1 w/CM12.1 with Xposed modules. The phone boots into the GS5 screen it says the Yellow text at the top (Warranty Bit: kernel) and then immediately shuts down and reboots. It is not recognized by my computer and I cannot get into recovery or download mode. Is there any way to revert changes to the kernel???

Please Help.

Cannot connect to mobile network - IMEI recovered succesfuly

Hello everyone,

Phone: Prestigio PAP 4500 Duo.

I'm getting crazy a little. Lost almost two days for this.
My girlfriend's phone just stopped working 2 days ago, stuck at bootloop. I somehow managed to get some stock Sp Flash tool flashable ROM from russian site and brought phone back to life. But in process I had to do Format (with keep Bootloader only option) and deleted my NVRAM.

I did then manage to restore my IMEI by making MP0B_001 file with my IMEI numbers and moving it to /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001.

So, My IMEI's are now succesfully stored to NVRAM but I still cannot connect to network.

I would use some help.

Thanks all! Cheers,
Bruno.

build.prop restore - rooted phone but cannot gain SU or root in adb.

Hi all,

I have been through douzens of threads and forums looking for a solution to this.

I followed some instructions to modify the build.prop file on my Huawei G535-L11 to disable Huawei theme manager in order to get Xsposed working fully (changed ro.config.hwtheme: 0). I did a backup of my original build.prop before hand, and my phone was rooted and unlocked but running the stock rom.

Unfortunately, it rebooted but won't go past the first 'EE' splash screen (just turns off again).
I can inconsistently get in to both fastboot and Android recovery, so I have been trying to use adb to push the original build.prop to /system/ on the phone.
However, this fails as /system/ is apparently RO. I have now discovered that I can't get SU permissions despite my phone being rooted.
If I try:
adb shell
$ su

nothing happens and it goes back to a $ prompt.
If I try:
adb root
I get the message (paraphrased):
adb cannot run as root in production builds.

So I can't push or do any adb method of restoring the build.prop file?! I don't understand why it is acting as if it is not rooted. I had Link2sd, Gravity Box, No Frills Cpu Controller all set up and working before, so I'm fairly sure I did truly have root.

I have also tried flashing a TWRP recovery, which apparently is successful, but when I go in to recovery it is still the Android Recovery.

Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to get my phone working again please?! This is my last gasp before the phone gets filed under 'B' in the cylindrical cabinet in the corner of the room! :crying:

Any assistance greatly appreciated! :D

Cannot enter PM times in google forms using chrome

Is anyone else having this problem? If I choose PM it goes back to AM. This happens in chrome only, and has persisted through several versions of the app. I tried JB AOSP browser and it worked there.

However it works correctly on my wife's Note 5 with current version of Chrome, which makes me think its a DT thing. This one has me a bit confused.

Changed /system to f2fs, cannot change back to ext4

I changed /system partition to f2fs for using temasek. Now I want to change it back to ext4. I converted all the other partitions to ext4 successfully. But when I try to change /system to ext4, it appears to go successfully. However, when I reboot, it still shows f2fs in the TWRP recovery.
I am using latest TWRP recovery (2.8.7.0_7 I believe).
Can anyone help me on this?

TWRP cannot see anything in recovery

Hey guys,

I am running TWRP 2.6.3 with EnergyROM. Im on 4.1.1 and my kernel version is 3.1.10. I am not sure what I did (I am pretty sure I did something wrong or forgot to do something), but I was trying to downgrade boot loaders to move over to CM. Right now I can boot into recovery and into Energy, but when I boot into recovery TWRP cannot see anything on my tablet and my SD card. Also, whenever I boot into recovery, I get a prompt for a password. Also, nothing I try to do in recovery really succeeds, it just constantly fails.
