Gear S2 - Changing Firmware from US to EU

Yes, it was not a smart move, to get me a Samsung Gear S2 classic
in New York on my vacation. After connecting with my german Note 4 it Sees
working well. Language and even time and date format was correct.
Also the keyboard.
But it seems impossible, to install s-voice in german or general voice recognition. Allowed languages are english, french, spanish and i think ... chinese.
And weather shows temperature just in degree Fahrenheit and not in celsius.

Has anybody an idea how to change the firmware to the european version.
The samsung Service here won't help because it's not from here.

Pls hlp

Thanks

Hi,
I just bought a second hand xperia M2 Aqua in sweden. But when i plug my connect my phone to PC companion everything is in Turkish (according to google translate). As far as i know the custom firmware, or something, is turkish.
Is there any way i can change the firmware back to nordic/original? Im currently running 5.1.1

On the box the phone came with it says:

SI 1288-4599.3 NO, FI, IS, SV, DA

and then i check the service menu *#*#7378423#*#* and go to the service menu i get the following info:

Phone software info: 1286-4792_18.6.A.0.175 Generic user
Filesystem version: GLOBAL-LTE_18.6.A.0.175
S1 boot version: 1274-7024 Si_Boot_MSM8x26_LA1.0_39

I would relly appriciate some help with this. I've tried to youtube and google it but I can't find any solution.

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.

Hi everybody. I was attempting to rollback by my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T700) from Lollipop to KitKat so that I could root it. I was following the steps in this guide:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...interface.html

I followed the steps with no problems until the end. I put my phone in Download Mode then plugged it in to the computer. Odin recognized it just find and I hit Start. Then it failed. I didn't screen capture the original fialure but I did a later one and it also failed, I have attached that one. Once it failed and my phone rebooted I got a screen that only says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select mode in Kies & try again." I can't turn the tablet off via the power button and nothing else seems to have an effect. I ran Kies and first I get an "unsupported device" message, didn't get that before. Following the steps for recover, I go to Tools >> Emergency Firmware Recovery, the List of devices requiring emergency recovery is empty, my device is not there. Going by the guide, if I had a recovery code I could attempt via that, but I don't have the code. You only get a code from the original computer that tried to updated the tablet via Kies and failed. But since wasn't using Kies I don't have the code.

I did find one thread with a similar problem and I followed the steps there but I still get a fail when I run Odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...issue-t3019438

I was able to get to the battery and unplug it and boot into Download Mode again and I tried flashing back to stock again and failed again (see attached image). I am still able to get into Download mode by unplugging the battery and booting into that but every time I try flash with Odin I get a failed message.

Questions:
1) Does someone have a recovery code so I can attempt via Kies? I've searched pretty thoroughly on the internet and couldn't find any.
2) Is there something I'm missing when I flash the new firmware via Odin? Or something else I can try to restore to any working version?

Thanks!

Installed CMW on the wrong firmware, now I can't downgrade and install it properly.

I blindly tried to install CWM on my second rooted firetv running 51.1.1.0_user_511070220. I am trying to downgrade to 51.1.0.2_user_510058520 so I can properly install CMW but it doesn't seem to take, when i reboot recover it just stays on the amazon logo and halts. I followed all the tutorials perfectly and had no problem installing CMW on my other fire tv that came stock with 51.1.0.2_user_510058520.

Im curious if CMW is installed yet not compatible thus blocking any downgrading attempts, if so what would be the process of removing cmw?

My thoughts and bugs in the release firmware.

I thought I'd tell you all what I've noticed after using my Z5 for a while now.

I find the UI to be quite laggy at times, especially after pressing the clear all button. It seems to stay on the screen with the small apps launcher bar at the bottom for quite a while, before it returns to the main screen. Launching apps for the first time takes longer than I expected, but they do launch fast the second time, unless you've cleared it from memory by swiping it away on the recents screen. There are videos on YouTube comparing the Z5 to the new iPhone 6s, and I was pretty shocked to see how bad the Z5 performs against the A9 processor of the 6S.

It does get quite hot during normal use, or when syncing data, like my Google Photos album (but there are over 20,000 pictures backed up.) Definitely hotter, faster, than my Z3. A fridge is handy at times like that to keep it cool. Don't want to fry the battery. It also get's hot on first boot too, after resetting, and it will be the same after clean flashing new roms (eventually). I'd only taken a handful of photos today, when the camera overheated the phone, and I got the 'camera unavailable' message. Strangely, they were only normal, auto mode photos, when my previous phones only ever really did that when I was using other modes, like the AR effect, or whatever.

The battery does drain pretty quickly once you start using the phone, yes. While it's idle, it's not too bad as long as you pick the right power saving features, like no WiFi with screen off, and no WiFi scanning being always available, but start messing around and you can see the percentage dropping. Nowhere near as good as my Z3, which I've kept, thankfully. Turning on 'Extended usage' in the Stamina mode menu hasn't seemed to have had any beneficial effect either. I don't know what kind of governor that uses, or what CPU speed it is restricting too, but I wish I had root so I could use my own governor. Just have to wait I guess.

I found this bug to be quite unexpected too. If you look in the contacts app, if you have a contact picture with a white, or light coloured background, try reading the writing, the contact name, or finding the buttons in the top right corner. The contacts app on the Z3 seems to darken the bottom and top edges of the images so these are readable, but the Z5's current firmware doesn't.

There's probably other things, but I tend to play around on my Z3 more to save the battery on the Z5, so I haven't found anything else yet. If I didn't have my Z3 still, the 5 more than likely wouldn't even last me a day, and I don't play games, or watch loads of video or anything. My Z3 easily lasts me virtually the whole two days. I'm a caller/texter mainly, and often plenty of photos, but I do have Wifi on unless the screen is off because I use WhatsApp, and Facebook sometimes too.

Turn your WiFi and mobile data off and the phone behaves itself very well, Shame every time I turn the screen on, I seem to need internet, so hey ho there.

Considering this is 5.1.1, you would have thought it would have been nice, clean, and smooth, but sadly, no. I'm hoping that the smoothness of the firmware will be sorted out once the updates start rolling, but I'm not going to hold my breath on battery life, and I've pretty much resigned myself to charging it at least every night. I beg Marshmallow has some better battery management. Maybe the new Doze feature will do something? Well, I wanted faster, more power, more memory, and don't forget awesome looks (mine is the Gold version) so I guess I can't have my cake and eat it.

I notice that they've now added the Z5's model number to the PTCRB website, but no firmwares are listed yet.

I hope the updates comes soon, and that they don't leave the final Z5 Lollipop as bad as this release.

P.S.
I do love the phone, I've always had Sony for a long time now, but it could have been better.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 MN SM-N910P. While trying to root it, it bricked and is stuck in bootloop. When I try to flash firmware through Odin I get the error eMMC Write Fail:Aboot

From Philz to Flyme (official firmware) MX4

Good evening everyone.
I write because I have a problem with the installation of the CM on my meizu MX4.

I ran perfectly the procedure of unlocking the bootloader, and once unlocked, I flashed the recovery Philz. Later I tried to flash the CM with adb, but in at end it always says "Installation Aborted". I tried with the patched recovery and with cofface, but I just can not flash it.
I then tried to do a wipe cache but no with any recovery that I flashed always appears to me:
"E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / command
E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / log
E: Can not open / cache / recovery / log
E: Can not mount / cache / recovery / last_log
E: Can not open / cache / recovery / last_log "

I read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/meiz...x4-m1-t3201715 that I could flash the patched rom deleting the file uboot.img and preloader.bin but I can not find anywhere the second file, and also I'm afraid to brick the phone ... someone has already done it?

Tell me that at least in the future I will be able to install the CM. Loved and hated Flyme.

Sorry for the English and thanks in advance for your reply.

[LGH340AR] Original KDZ (Firmware) for LG LEON LTE ARGENTINA (no carrier)

DOWNLOAD LINK: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downlo...40AR10a_04.kdz
I've searched a lot for this KDZ, and could finally find it at http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firm...ntry=Argentina .
It says CLARO on that site, but since the bootlogo at /system/media is the original LG one and I could not find any Claro app after extracting the KDZ, I'm assuming that's just the GLOBAL KDZ FOR ARGENTINA, without any carrier crap.

Be careful, tho. That's version v10a. I couldn't test it on my phone yet. It's pretty new. But it's original from LG, so you shouldn't have any problem. Try it at your own risk!

-----------------

Probala a tu propio riesgo! Es original de la pagina de LG.

Soft-bricked D820n a51_ul after upgrading just firmware from OTA

Hello,
i have single sim d820 (europe)

Code:

***************************
Software status: Modified
A51_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
hboot-3.19.0.0000
radio-01.01.010_U10305041_08.01.50512
os-2.10.401.2
***************************

Before i messed it up it was unlocked and rooted and S-ON, then i wanted to install OTA and i flashed firmware.zip extracted from OTA zip file (bad idea). Now i'm unable to get my phone working...
What i can do:
-enter bootloader
-fastboot commands
-enter recovery

What I've tried and didn't work:
-flash stock recovery, lock, flash RUUk44.zip via fastboot (signature verify fail)
-flash stock recovery, lock, flash lollipop OTA (signature verify fail)
-flash TWRP, restore k44 backup (bootloop after reboot from recovery)

The question is, if I would somehow obtain firmware from k44 stock, is it possible to downgrade on S-ON using "fastboot flash zip" and then restore backup or flash RUU?
I cannot find magical RUU.exe for this model there are only zip files...
Guys maybe someone can dump kitkat firmware i would be grateful...
I appreciate any idea, please help me solve it :(

Galaxy S4 Active "Firmware Upgrade Failed" on Boot

I have a Galaxy S4 Active AT&T model (SGH-I537) and I've completely screwed it up. I don't remember how, but I had it rooted on 5.0.1 I537UCUCOC6 and wanted to completely reset it by flashing it to stock because it was running really slowly. Well, I did something with Odin, something failed, and now it's telling me "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." Which I did, but Kies never recognizes the device. I've looked and looked but I can't find anywhere on how to fix this. Is there anything I can do? I am able to access the... I think it's called bootloader mode? (Been a long time since I've done any of this obviously) but pressing volume down and home while booting, so I can flash with Odin still I'm guessing.

Flashing 3 UK firmware to XEU unbranded phone?

As 3 UK now support VoLTE I want to flash the latest VoLTE 3 branded firmware to my unbranded phone but not sure how to go about it.

Is it just as simple as flashing the 3 firmware or is it a bit more complicated? I've heard stuff about pit files and not being able to sign them so not been able to flash carrier specific stuff to phone.

Anyone successfully done this?
