Issue with 12 hour time display

Is anyone else having an issue with some watch faces showing in 24 hour format instead of 12 hour? An example for me is the Glance watch face, there is no setting in the app to toggle and the display in Zen manage show 12 hour available but no matter what I do it displays in 24 hour format.

Sound "skipping" issue

I got an S6 (Canadian) edition and for some reason, whenever I listen to music it skips.. Just like the old CDs use to do. I can be listening to Spotify "live" or loaded playlist, TuneIN or even music directly on my phone and the problem occurs. I use to be on the stock ROM, because of the issue I switched to a custom ROM and had issues with both version. Anyone else experienced this issue or had clues on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Sound issue

My sound sometimes gets real low and turning it up does not make it as loud as it supposed to be. Also sometimes 1 speaker works only or no sound works at all. I believe rebooting works but didn't do much testing with that to make sure.

Is there a way to check if sound issues are rom side or hardware side?

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.

Hi everybody. I was attempting to rollback by my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T700) from Lollipop to KitKat so that I could root it. I was following the steps in this guide:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...interface.html

I followed the steps with no problems until the end. I put my phone in Download Mode then plugged it in to the computer. Odin recognized it just find and I hit Start. Then it failed. I didn't screen capture the original fialure but I did a later one and it also failed, I have attached that one. Once it failed and my phone rebooted I got a screen that only says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select mode in Kies & try again." I can't turn the tablet off via the power button and nothing else seems to have an effect. I ran Kies and first I get an "unsupported device" message, didn't get that before. Following the steps for recover, I go to Tools >> Emergency Firmware Recovery, the List of devices requiring emergency recovery is empty, my device is not there. Going by the guide, if I had a recovery code I could attempt via that, but I don't have the code. You only get a code from the original computer that tried to updated the tablet via Kies and failed. But since wasn't using Kies I don't have the code.

I did find one thread with a similar problem and I followed the steps there but I still get a fail when I run Odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...issue-t3019438

I was able to get to the battery and unplug it and boot into Download Mode again and I tried flashing back to stock again and failed again (see attached image). I am still able to get into Download mode by unplugging the battery and booting into that but every time I try flash with Odin I get a failed message.

Questions:
1) Does someone have a recovery code so I can attempt via Kies? I've searched pretty thoroughly on the internet and couldn't find any.
2) Is there something I'm missing when I flash the new firmware via Odin? Or something else I can try to restore to any working version?

Thanks!

Camera failed issue on 4.4.4

Hi,

I got a 2nd hand N915T running 4.4.4 recently . For the stock camera app, when it tries to auto focus, very often it will freeze for seconds and the resumes. And eventually, it will crash saying "Camera failed". Sometimes, it will just freeze with some random screwed up graphics.

I have tried wiping cache, but after a few pictures , it will happen again. I am not sure if it's a conflict of certain apps.

Is this a known issue with 4.4.4? Does it get fixed with 5.0.1?

Thanks.

Sprint L720T On Boost No LTE / Sim card issue

Hello, recently I set up my L720T on Boost, however it rejects the SIM card during the activation process and then locks it out, then leaves an error saying no SIM card. Does anyone no of a trick or possible the OTA app from a Boost ROM for L720T that I could install and have the activation process go through?

Thank you for any help I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: This isn't one of those donor phone flash things, I called Boost to resku the S4 IMEI and the SIM was originally different. When I popped in an approved SIM they said it should automatically authenticate but that's not what's happening.

Issue with headphones and sound

Hello,
I'm experiencing sound issues on an I9300, which I bought used. The phone indicates that there are headphones inserted, which leads to no sound from the loud speaker or the earpiece. Using Soundabout I can get them both back, which leads to hardware problem and means I cannot use any headphones.
I have cleaned the 3.5mm jack using a match and duct tape, also with a cotton swab, moistened with alcohol. Didn't help me with the issue so I've decided to buy a whole new loud speaker module. After testing it I found out that the problem isn't actually caused by the jack. When I disassembled the phone I have found some spots. The phone has likely been moistened. The spots looked caused by muddy water or probably cola, because some parts were stuck. Then I got pretty convinced that the issue is with the motherboard.
On the Internet I have found a motherboard treatment with isopropyl alcohol. I've bathed the MB for 10 minutes in that liquid, then let it dry but didn't work either.

Buying another MB would probably solve the problem, but I'm looking for alternative options. I gave for the phone and a new MB costs . I'd just get rid of the phone instead, but I just don't feel like buying a low-end phone, either spending all my savings on a high-end one because the Archidroid experience, thanks to JustArchi, is pretty much all what I'm looking for.

Minor issue after rooting Samsung Galaxy s5 ( sprint )

Ok so i rooted my s5 using odin 3.07, CF-Auto-Root-kltespr-kltespr-smg900p.tar.md5 and SM-G900p.knox_removal.android.5.0.zip
Its probably worth noting my phone is on lolipop from samsung.
After i used those via odin the phone rebooted as expected. However the first time it booted it would not work. It would get to the home screen after start up and system process would fail.
I rebooted into recovery and used the fix permissions and fix selinux option.
Now my phone works fine with 1 exception, i get an error that says google play services encountered an unknown error. Any idea what is causing this?

I also have installed twrp 2.8.7 ( i think that was the latest available ) this was done using the twrp app which initially said it failed but when i rebooted into recovery it was there.

Any help would be appreciated. Also is it normal for the rom to refuse to check for upgrades once rooted?

Jasmine Rom 9.0/9.1 encryption issue

I was running on Jasmine 8.0 which overall was running fine. I saw the new update, so I removed my work e-mail, decrypted the phone, and followed the normal install steps for 9.0. When I went back to add in my work e-mail again, I had to encrypt, so I went through that process and got back to the initial password/pin entry screen which tools me my pin was incorrect. I finally was able to rewipe the phone to get back to square 1. Since then I've tried 9.0, 9.1, and multiple combinations of pins and passwords and every time on the initial screen it tells me it's incorrect and starts counting down to wipe.

I'm not sure what to do since my work e-mail requires encryption. I don't want to go back to 8.0 (not sure that will even work).

Issue with setColorFilter on button background (Android 5)

Hi guys,

Teaching myself Android JAVA but am struggling with an issue that's affecting only one major version of Android, which appears to be all of 5.

I have an app using SupportFragments with the v4 support library (also tried it with framework fragments using v13 support library). On two of the fragments I have a ScrollView containing a large set of custom buttons. Both of these screen have an issue where the setColorFilter is being ignored when the scroll position is at the very top of the ScrollView. Oddly, if I scroll even 1 pixel the setColorFilter is working. Baffling.

Note, this only affects Android 5. Android 4, and Android 6 work perfectly. Only the various flavors of 5 I've tested with so far have this problem (5.1.1 - Cyanogen S4, and 5.0.2 - Galaxy Tab S2). The Nexus 9 (6.0), Galaxy Tab 2 (4.2.2) and Galaxy Tab 3 (4.4.2) all work fine.

Below is the example of the the scroll being at the top of the scrollview, and then scrolling by just a tiny margin showing the color filter applied.

******* won't let me post the images yet :( ****************

The buttons are initially added in the populate method called from the Fragments onCreateView using:

Code:

PasswordButton<Password> btn = (PasswordButton<Password>)inflater.inflate(R.layout.password_button, viewGroup, false);
btn.setObject(password);

The setObject(password) actually sets a password object to the button, and applies the color filter that it inherits from it's password group to the background using the following code (again all from the onCreateView):

Code:

public void setColour() {
                int colour = ((ButtonInterface)this.object).getColour();
                Drawable background = ContextCompat.getDrawable(getContext(), R.drawable.password_button_selector);
                background.setColorFilter(new PorterDuffColorFilter(colour, PorterDuff.Mode.MULTIPLY));
                this.setBackground(background);
        }

The button's style is a made up of a 9patch background (which is where I'm applying the color filter), a small arrow image, and the text.

I've made a workaround by overriding the onDraw completely for Android 5, and all other variants simply calling super(canvas), but it would be nice to not have to do this as if I start skinning the buttons my custom onDraw will need constant updating.

The searching I've done found allot of issues the other way (i.e. 5 working, but 4 not), and the ones I've found that had issues with 5 I'm already using the methods they say got it working.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Hi looking for Schematic on Touch Panel Connector to troubleshoot hardware issue

If anyone has a schematic or better yet troubleshooting/service manual for XT875 would be greatly appreciated. My touch screen isn't working even after replacement and I think it has something to do with motherboard connection and need to check voltages/pin assignments. Any help very appreciated...I have had this phone for 4 years and hope to have it for another 4...

Marshmallow SMS Issue

Hi all,

Just got the OTA update this evening on my simmered unlocked Nexus 6.

Update was successful, but I've not been able to open SMS threads since. I use Handcent but have tried the stock messenger and hangouts, no change.

When I restore my sms from backups on new phones I'm used to it taking hours as I've got 40,000+ messages, but it seems odd...

I'm also not receiving any sms messages since I updated...

Can anyone suggest anything? I've Googled it but found nothing yet...

Speakerphone microphone hardware issue

Hi!

I had my S4 (I9505) serviced a few months ago. Warranty repair, they replaced the whole mainboard. The repair took forever, and when I got the phone back, I already had purchased another one (second hand) that I liked better (Xperia Z1 compact, I liked the size), so I tested the repaired phone was working, but no more than that. A few months later when I missed my big screen and some custom ROMs I took back my I9505 and started using it with stock ROM. I soon noticed people couldn't hear me when I was on speaker phone. Then I flashed a few aosp and CM based ROMs, and realized it wasn't a software issue: it did not work on those either. And when trying to dictate something, or use voice command, the phone just doesn't "hear" anything. So the same mic must be involved in those operations, which makes sense since it is when you speak from further away from your phone.
Unfortunately, months have passed since the repair and the phone is no longer under warranty.
I started investigating a little bit, and it seems there are two microphones on the phone. The regular one works well but the other one not at all. So, here are my questions:

1. Is the second microphone located on the top of the phone, next to the headphone jack? If anyone has a diagram or picture of the board with the second microphone marked, I'd be happy to see it :)
2. How is that second mic connected to the board? Is it a cable, a contact or is it welded? Or is it integrated on the board?
3. If it is a part that can be replaced, where can it be purchased?
4. Anyone has had the same issue? If so, could you solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Motorola XT915 Cynagenmod 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1.1) - SMS sending Failed issue

Dear xda developers,

I have installed a custom ROM from Cyanogenmod version 12.1 Nightly
I read some tutorial and documentation and everything works great, installed the ROM without any trouble, except that i couldn't make the backup of my original Android Software. (Which keeps hanging and thats why i installed CM)

Now the problem is i can't send SMS, whenever i press the send button it simply display the red exclamation sign and says sending failed. although i can receive SMS and Calls. but couldn't send.

I must need the SMS functionality to work, please help! i don't have the Stock rom in backup so i'm stuck here now

(Sorry about the grammer)

I hope the last talk about "unknown baseband" issue.

Ok, guys, since we have 5.1 firmwares with (cross)compatible modems, one can expect there will not be any new problems with "unknown baseband" issue. But it is still here with me.
My xt1095 (may be converted, I don't know how to chek it) with unlocked BL works fine with motorola original tmo_5.1 firmware and modem from retcn_5.1. But if I try to install CM12.1 (of course clean install) or any other rom based on it, I always have "unknown baseband" issue and
1) it CAN NOT be fixed only by flashing my modem backup files via fastboot.
2) it can not be fixed even if I try to restore EFS partitions from twrp backup or via any other stuff from google market.
3) manual copying partitions with /shell dd/ commands doesn't fix the issue too.
I also try to use the modem backup from my stock 5.0.2 firmware (wich I used before applying 5.1 update). Modem from 5.0.2 works fine with 5.1_tmo, but still "baseband unknown" with CM12.1. It seems that CM12.1 based roms do some "bad job" during install via twrp, or CM12.1 roms for victara on CM webpage are not compatible with my phone (what the hell!!). Last attempt was to try chineese version of mokee 5.1.1 rom (for xt1085), but the result was the same: it boots with "unknown baseband" issue and I can't fix it. I have to restore a full twrp backup finally :(
